Looking Out There

Being a Rev. a metaphysical practitioner, theologian and philosopher, naturally I am asked quite frequently; "so, where is God and what is he or she exactly?" And many go on to further ask, "why haven't I found God yet"?  What amazes me the most is the fact that so many have not read the bible at all. Rather, they have simply accepted the word of religion and the church, both of men.

In saying this, one has to remember that the institution of religion and the church as such are mere men (for the most part), and it is "their" own interpretations for much of the time that dictates the canon and doctrine, then and now. This is why I stress to people it is so important to read the bible for yourself, because really only the Spirit can lead to the absolute truth of it (the bible).

Next to advising people who ask these questions to read the bible themselves, I also advise them to seek counsel with the Spirit of Jesus and his Teachings. Much of his teaching methods were in fact I believe more-so "counselling" methods than instruction in any religion. However, Jesus did have a great deal to say about religion, and it might surprise many to know that most of what Jesus had said of religion was "negative". For example; "many will come in my name and profess to be the Christ (the saviour), but these are the wolves in sheep's clothing, do not go out into the wilderness and follow them into the darkness".  I do not quote selective passages from the bible for the simple reason, if one is to see Jesus' entire message one must follow all links in the New Testament that refer to Jesus' Teachings or counselling of the people. If the bible is read from a lineal perceptive, the lateral or bilateral message becomes distorted and the big picture "so 2 speak" is lost. I use the term "so 2 speak" in a literal sense because in human form we do Host the Holy Spirit (He'S; meaning both he AND she), of God, that "piece" of God within us all and when found brings a peace almost indescribable and we become complete.

I have to admit to having a bit of a giggle when asked "where is God?".  It seems people are so busy "looking out there" for what exists only "With-In" (WI; pronounced "we"), themselves as the bible quotes and Jesus paraphrased many times throughout his life. And of course, with Spirit, gender is neither one nor the other, but both, just as is the human form consisting of both male and female within the one form and only assumes gender by physical appearance or attribute for the most part. This philosophy is supported in the very first book of the bible in Genesis 1-27; "so God created man in his own image" and oddly enough in Genesis 1-26; "God said, let us make man".  So just who is us and how many consists of the unit "us?" Odd, are we to assume the Spirit of God consist of more than just "one" Spirit or entity? Now here is where some things can get tricky! Different religious groups are in conflict as to just how many books are in the new and old testaments of the bible. The common philosophy by majority though is that there are 27 books in the New Testament and 39 in the Old Testament. Here is the greatest oddity I find; when you multiply 39 (books in the OT), you get "27", that being the number of books in the New Testament, and being the passage number of a key element in Genesis. And of course, if you add 3+9 you get "12", the age apparently Jesus began to branch out on his own learning journey  :) More can be done with the scientific and metaphysical mathematics of the NT and OT's, but I won't reach out that far just yet except to say that the two books combined give the product of the age Jesus was crucified. As they say; "numbers provide patterns and patterns provide images" :)

Therefore, to sum things up in simpler form; I advise people of three primary elements to remember whilst on their journey to "finding God". Firstly, God is not "out there"; the Spirit of God is "within" one'self. Secondly, it is imperative to read (also RE AD), the New Testament, in particular Jesus' Teachings and Counsellings and allow the Spirit within to read for you. And of course, "knock and ask" (prayer), the Spirit of God to open your eyes to truth as only God can. Some say this sounds impossible, but it is easy when you let go of your own consciousness of human learning and be open to receive the Holy Spirit of God that is "within" as Genesis states quite clearly. Once you find your "piece" (psyche connection), of God, "peace" is abundant along with Spiritual Wealth (SW; pronounced "see double-u"), meaning you can "see" through your "physical" form of humanism and see, feel and hear all-ways, or simply bilateral and the world suddenly opens up to you and the Gifts become not only abundant, but immeasurable and as the Spirit of God had promised; "all your needs are met". However, it is important to note at this time that one must be able to distinguish "need from desire". This is I believe why Jesus said that; "if one lives for one'self, one dies and if one dies to one'self one lives".

May the Spirit of God bless all with wisdom and infinite knowledge of He's Presence in their lives and want for nought for all is given in and of Faith.
